AboutMeet your local firefighters!
Open days are being held at Gloucestershire's fire stations, including Cheltenham, so the public can meet the crews and watch some exciting demonstrations.
The free family-friendly event in Cheltenham is being held - Cheltenham Community Fire Station (Keynsham Road) – Sunday 15 September, 12pm-4.30pm
A full list of other participating Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue stations can be found below:

If you would like to join your local fire station as an on call firefighter, there will also be a chance to speak to the team and find out more information.
The open day at Gloucester South Community Fire Station is being combined with an open day at the safety education centre SkillZONE, which offers prevention and safety education for all ages. The centre in Tuffley has an interactive, life-size indoor village with home, community, road and cyber zones.

Cllr Dave Norman, cabinet member with responsibility for the Fire and Rescue Service, said: "These open days are a great opportunity to visit your local fire station to watch some demonstrations and gain some invaluable safety advice. We hope the open day at SkillZONE will also be popular as it's an excellent facility that does vital work for the county."
Wayne Bowcock, chief fire officer, said: "Gloucestershire fire stations are 'Community' stations so these open days are a great opportunity for our residents to see what we do. We look forward to them every year and enjoy talking to our local residents. If you're interested in becoming an on call firefighter we'd love to speak to you so we hope you will come along to meet us."
