Cheltenham Racecourse

Cheltenham racecourse is commonly known as the Home of Jumps Racing, but as a venue it offers much more than just horse racing. It is the South West’s leading venue for conferences, exhibitions, live events and celebrations. With a variety of restaurants and conference rooms, Cheltenham can cater for any event from exhibitions to corporate occasions. The venue offers free WiFi, ample parking and a comfortable, welcoming environment at a competitive cost. Whatever the event, Cheltenham Racecourse is a winner.

The Showcase – 27th and 28th October 2017

Cheltenham’s season begins with a bang as we showcase not only the best racing but also top-class local companies’ products to be sampled in the Food and Drink Zone. This two day fixture sees racing return to the home of jump racing ready to tackle the season ahead.

The November Meeting – 17th - 19th November 2017

Three days packed full of top-class racing action which is kicked off with Countryside Day on the Friday raising money for Countryside Alliance and Injured Jockeys Fund. This fixture also holds the BetVictor Gold Cup, and the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial (Grade 2).  The final day of the fixture is renowned for spotting future stars as they take to the track in the Skybet Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle Race (Grade 2). The Sunday is destined to be a perfect family day out with a dedicated Family fun Zone with special guest Peter Rabbit.

The International Meeting – 15th and 16th December 2017

The festive spirit brings racing alive as the season enters the peak time of year. The International Meeting holds the finale of the Crystal Cup Cross-country race which always creates a unique and exciting spectacle, as well as the Grade 2 International Hurdle race. The festive fun continues after racing with racegoers being treated to live music. This fixture also offers people the chance to finish off their festive shop in the Shopping Village.

New Year’s Day – 1st January 2018

This fixture always welcomes the New Year in with style. With quality racing and a Family Fun Zone featuring Paddington Bear, balloon artists, live Animal Magic and many more activities for the family to enjoy.  There will also be live music throughout the day followed by post-racing entertainment in The Centaur to keep the previous night’s celebrations alive.

Festival Trials Day – 27th January 2018

Combatting those January blues, Festival Trials Day gives racegoers the chance to witness great action as momentum builds towards The Festival. This is often the last meeting for horses in preparation for the main event of their season as the countdown has really started. The feature race of the day is the Betbright Chase which often features many Gold Cup contenders.

The Festival & Gold Cup – 13th – 16th March 2018

The Festival is often described as the Olympics in racing. With four action-packed days of elite racing, some of the biggest races in sport are run with the final day of the fixture providing the famous Timico Gold Cup. Other racing highlights throughout the week include the Stan James Champion Hurdle, the RyanAir Steeple Chase and the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase adding a royal touch. There is a variety of entertainment on throughout the week with live music playing throughout the course and the famous Guinness Village celebrating with typical Irish flair on St Patrick’s Thursday, as well as the glamourous event that is Wednesday’s Ladies Day.

The April Meeting – 18th and 19th April 2018

A two-day mid-week fixture in the springtime sunshine offers racegoers the chance to watch their favourite stars wind down for the season as the jumps season begins to wrap up. The April Meeting provides visitors with an opportunity to experience a more gentle side of Cheltenham yet still be treated with some top-class racing.

Hunter Chase Evening – 4th May 2018

A season finale giving amateur jockeys their chance to take centre stage at racing’s own ‘Theatre of Dreams.’ It is a fixture that draws a large local crowd that is the only chance to bring family, friends, colleagues and clients to an evening of racing at Cheltenham. The celebrations continue post-racing as a top DJ will be joining us to perform a live set and will be supported by a local band.
