Cheltenham is a wonderful destination to enjoy pop-up markets, offering both visitors and locals the chance to mooch among local food produce or find the perfect souvenir at craft fairs.
Most of Cheltenham’s markets are held along the tree-lined Promenade and Long Gardens, right in the heart of town, including the twice-monthly Cheltenham Farmers' Market, the monthly Cheltenham Craft Market, and numerous Christmas markets.
In The Suffolks, the road is closed to traffic seven times a year and becomes fully pedestrianised for The Suffolks Sunday Markets, featuring a host of independent traders. This much-loved event brings together a fabulous array of artisan foods, local producers, antiques, homeware, crafts, and clothing, creating a bustling, lively market street.
Cheltenham Town Hall regularly hosts touring and internationally acclaimed markets, with everything from vintage clothing and art to end-of-line sales and handmade crafts, including the Cheltenham Craft Festival. Cheltenham Racecourse also hosts large special interest fairs, such as Fresh: Art Fair, while a vintage market is held regularly throughout the year at Pittville Pump Room.
Beyond the town centre, venues such as Dunkertons Park and Elkstone Studios host seasonal markets throughout the year.
