Al Fresco Dining in Cheltenham
There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants in Cheltenham that offer outdoor dining space. Enjoy beautiful Regency views of The Promenade or overlook our gardens and parks whilst enjoying food and drinks outdoors.
The two main districts for al fresco dining in Cheltenham are The Brewery Quarter and Regent Street. Many of the restaurants in The Brewery Quarter offer outdoor dining space including The Brewhouse & Kitchen and Son of Steak. On a dry summers day, all of the outdoor dining areas on Regent Street will be busy with diners dining in the sunshine including Bar Padron, The Find, WoodKraft, KIBOU and the Regency Tea Rooms.
If you’re looking for low-key, SOHO Coffee Co. has outdoor seating at both their Cambray Place and The Brewery Quarter outlets, and offer a great breakfast and lunch selection. Meanwhile Huffkins Bakery boast an outdoor seating area on The Promenade, with a fantastic array of lunchtime foods and all-day snacks. Huffkins is positioned to watch the hustle and bustle of the town, but quiet enough to relax and soak up the sun, and you’ll be able to spot the famous Hare and Minotaur statue from here too!
The No. 131, has a beautiful outdoor space, with seating under the leaf-lined avenue of the Upper Promenade and views over Imperial Gardens. Whether you pop in for a quiet drink or a meal with friends, this outdoor space is set-back from the main street and has a gorgeous green feel.
We cannot discuss al fresco dining without mentioning The Rising Sun pub on Cleeve Hill. The outdoor beer garden has an incredible view over the whole of Cheltenham. It’s well worth the short drive from the town centre and is located only a few minutes climb from the highest point of the Cotswolds, so it would be easy to combine a trip to experience both.
Cheltenham will soon gain its first rooftop restaurant and bar at Honeybourne Place overlooking The Imperial Gardens. The restaurant will be a fantastic addition to Cheltenham’s al fresco scene. Watch this space!
