This show is about a deep love of the natural world, and about a place in which it melds with a life. It is an investigation into the 'feeling' of nature as well as the joy and energy it imbues. Addy Gardner paints what are essentially internally felt memories of places significant to her. They are not places of monumental significance but a coalescence of joyful moments with her family, and when she is alone in nature. The works are loosely based on a handful of walks and the spaces in between. In the words of poet and environmental activist Gary Snyder, 'Nature is not a place to visit, it is home.'
