Only one month to go until the Cheltenham Racecourse, the home of jump racing kicks start the season with The Showcase, followed quickly with the November Meeting. This year we can look forward to not only world class horse racing but also a live performance by the West Country legends, The Wurzels, who will be taking to the stage on Friday 15 November after racing on Countryside Day, the first day of The November Meeting.

Snooker fans will be pleased to hear that top stars will be back at Cheltenham Racecourse next February for the Coral World Grand Prix, which was staged for the first time earlier this year.

The prestigious tournament, which brings together 32 of the world’s best players, will run from February 3 to 9 in 2020.

The Autumn 2019 tour of the new reimagined and reenergized Saturday Night Fever strutted onto the stage on Tuesday night at The Everyman Theatre in true seventies style. We asked local theatre enthusiast Jane to pop along to review the show for us, here is how she got on…

It’s just two weeks until the world’s oldest literature festival commences.  This year is the 70th anniversary of The Cheltenham Literature Festival and it is promising to be the best year yet. Tickets for many of the events have sold out however we will let you into a secret!  There are tickets still available for some absolutely brilliant events/talks/debates and unique experiences covering all genres.  So without further ado let us share them with you so you can go and snap them up quick!

From the most magical pantomime of them all, Cinderella, to the hilarious comedy 'Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em', The Everyman Theatre once again has a show for everyone in its brand new autumn line up with a whole host of star shows and names set to be heading to the theatre.

There are only two weeks to go until The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival (4-13 October).  This year we can look forward to more than 80 free events including cool spoken word gigs, literary pub quizzes, tarot reading, improvisation comedy, storytelling sessions and family fun trails.  Regardless of age or interest there will be something for you to enjoy, for free at the Cheltenham Literature Festival!

We've been raving about the Cheltenham Beer Week for some time now and the big day is fast approaching here!  Until the 22nd September over 30 venues will celebrate Cheltenham Beer Week.  Bars, pubs, restaurants, bottle shops and brewers have signed up to host a wide variety of beery events. You can expect ‘meet the brewer’ evenings, food and beer matching, tutored tastings, beer quizzes, music and more!

With experts predicting one of our most colourful autumns yet, there couldn’t be a better time to visit the spectacular Sudeley Castle and Gardens, to experience the new Autumn Wildlife Trail.

Running daily from now until October 25, the trail will see families from far and wide follow the footprints of Sudeley’s resident wildlife around the grounds, and learn a thing or two about these charming creatures that call our countryside home.

Misshapes: The Making of Tatty Devine, is now open at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum in Cheltenham, the first regional venue on a UK-wide tour.

There is no time to be down about the summer being over with many fabulous things to do in Cheltenham this September.  We launched the month with the Cheltenham Festival of Cycling, Cheltenham Paint Festival is currently brightening up our town and next week we have the Cheltenham Wellbeing Festival to look forward to.  We also have ten FREE days of heritage coming up with Cheltenham Heritage Open Days, plus a whole host of open air cinema screenings and live performances.

Today is the first official day of Cheltenham Paint Festival!  Our annual festival attracts leading national and international street artists to our Regency town and this year looks to the best yet with 130 artists expected to take part, creating street art in over 25 different paint locations spread across a 6km (4 mile) trail.  Read on for trail map details and to watch videos of interviews with the street artists.
