The Gloucester Old Spot is well known for its commitment to traditional pub values and has further evolved its product offer to encompass everything that is great about the Gloucestershire larder.

Working with renowned local producers the pub now sources nearly all food and drink from Gloucestershire and the three counties.  Simon Daws proprietor since 2010 said “ Food provence has always been fundamental to how we operate and the new branding is a formalisation of what we have always done….championing the sublime products and skills of local farmers and drink producers.”

We trade with two local family owned butchers, our eggs travel two miles, dairy, flour, breads and ice creams are all sourced from small independent businesses.  Of course a great choice of beer and cider is widely available and we continue to feature handmade cordials.  A big leap for many customers will be buying English wine and Gloucestershire’s Three Choirs Vineyard are represented on our list and selling well” added Simon

Head Chef and fellow Director Shawn Bound added, “We want to showcase amazing local produce for the sake of both quality and support of the county’s economy, throw in the upside to the environment of food miles and it has to be the only way forwards.  We ourselves employ local people and the snowball effect of spending money with independent local businesses will become an essential post-script to Brexit so let’s grow it locally, cook it locally, and enjoy it locally”

You can see the Gloucestershire Severn Cross flag occupying pride of place outside the pub.  “This represents our onward journey through localism and we will be adding more great artisan producers as the weeks and month pass”

The Gloucester Old Spot is open all day everyday from 11am
