Changes afoot at The Clock Tower: Cheltenham pub set for refurbishment

The Clock Tower pub in Cheltenham is due to receive a new look with the pub undergoing a £140,000 investment. 

The pub, which recently welcomed a new landlord, is situated on the edge of Charlton Kings next to the Double Tree Hilton Hotel. The Clock Tower is ideally situated for a drink or meal before or after a visit to the nearby Lilley Brook Golf Club or Cheltenham Race Course and has an Osprey Charging Station in the car park.

The Clock Tower will reopen with a varied menu of pub favourites including Hot Dog (pork Frankfurter in a brioche-style roll with fried onions, topped with American mustard, ketchup, crispy onions and chopped chives, served with fries) plus new additions such as Vegetable Thai-Style Curry (a warming vegetable Thai-style curry made with vegan red curry sauce, sweet potato, soya beans, red pepper, sugar snap peas and bamboo shoots, served with coconut flavour basmati rice and crackers) and Salted Caramel Cookie Brownie (brownie base, layered with rich gooey chocolate ganache, topped with chocolate chip cookie and salted caramel sauce, served with chocolate sauce and vanilla flavoured ice cream). 

The new look is set to elevate the interiors to suit all occasions, from ‘casual lunches’ to special celebrations. The pub will also gain a new darts board, pool table and shuffleboard in the bar area of the pub and re-open with a weekly entertainment schedule, including live music evenings, comedy nights and bingo. 

With over 1,600 pubs and bars across England, Scotland and Wales, Marston's sites range from their traditional local pubs and family-friendly pubs to their sites with a focus on a ‘warm, timeless country pub atmosphere’.

The refurbishment will also create 6 new job opportunities, including 4 front and 2 back of house team members.

The Clock Tower closes for refurbishment on Monday 12th February and will reopen on Monday 26th February.
