Gareth Fulford

Not that he really wants to reveal his age, but award-winning Chef/Patron at Purslane Restaurant, Gareth Fulford is celebrating 30 years in professional kitchens on November 16th.

Starting out as a Commis at The Penn Cottage in 1993, Gareth has spent the last three decades cooking for everyone from rock stars to The Queen.

“After cooking at venues all over the country, catering for royals, movie stars, England captains and a few Spice Girls thrown in, I knew Cheltenham was where I could settle down,” he says.

Gareth opened Purslane in 2012 and immediately began to collect awards for the food and service there.

“From the moment I started cooking at my Nan’s apron strings, I knew I always wanted to open my own restaurant. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved.”
