New bus fares at a reduced rate are being introduced later this month on the Park and Ride service from Arle Court to Cheltenham.

The service had been cancelled by Stagecoach last year but the county council was able to procure a new provider, Bennetts Coaches, who are now operating the Park and Ride.

The service was temporarily free over the festive period to encourage passengers to use the service and support the local economy.

New fares will be coming into effect from Monday 23 January, which offer a reduced rate group travel option and a 10 journey saver ticket.

The prices are as follows:

  • Adult return - £2.80
  • Adult single - £1.80
  • Child return - £1
  • Child single - 50p
  • 2 adults return - £3.50
  • 3 adults return - £4.30
  • 4 adults return - £5
  • 5 adults return - £6.30
  • 6+ adults return - £7
  • 10 trip ticket return (unlimited timeframe) - £10
  • Concessionary passes - £1 return

Cllr Philip Robinson, cabinet member with responsibility for buses, said: “I would like to thank our loyal Park and Ride users as well as others who have been using the service we procured to get to Cheltenham.

“I’m delighted we are able to offer reduced rates for the new fares being brought in and I hope that will encourage people to continue to use this service to travel sustainably and reduce traffic on our roads.”
