After much anticipation, The Nook on Five has been confirmed as the tenant of the Quadrangle’s rooftop restaurant – the first of its kind in Cheltenham.

The independent restaurant will open its doors to customers this November. Guests can look forward to creative and innovative menus of contemporary British cuisine with a nod to traditional French gastronomy. The focus will be on quality seasonal ingredients, showcasing locally sourced produce as much as possible in keeping with the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability.

The spectacular views across Imperial Gardens and beyond will make The Nook a truly unique dining experience. Although the rooftop terrace itself won’t be fully open to the public until spring 2023, visitors will be able to purchase tickets to enjoy a glass of champagne and take in the magical vista. Looking down onto Cheltenham’s winter ice skating rink will make for a particularly memorable festive occasion.

“There has been a huge amount of work that’s gone on behind the scenes to get to this point so we are thrilled to now be able to make the big reveal!’ said Edward Surman, Director at SH Retail Investments who have taken on the lease. “As Cheltenham’s first rooftop restaurant, we cannot wait to welcome people so that they can enjoy a fine dining experience with the added attraction of panoramic rooftop views.”

The restaurant and bar area on the top floor will be complemented by an afternoon tea lounge, and a patisserie and café will occupy the ground floor unit. Reflecting the restaurant’s promotion of locally sourced ingredients, the cocktail bar will champion British craft drinks, offering guests the chance to sample artisanal wines and spirits from niche independent producers.

“Alongside the care and consideration that will go into our menus, we want the interior to mirror the same sophistication and attention to detail to ensure guests have a truly unforgettable experience,” continues Edward.

“The question about who is going to be taking the rooftop restaurant has been by far the most asked since the news was announced about the Quadrangle’s refurbishment plans,” comments James Woodard from property agents Hartnell Taylor Cook who acted on behalf of the landlord. “We’re really excited about having The Nook on board and know that it will be a fantastic addition to Cheltenham, bringing a premium dining experience that is sure to have the ‘wow’ factor.

“The remaining two retail units are also currently under offer and we’re looking forward to revealing more tenants as soon as we can. With Bosco being so well received and now news of The Nook on Five, the Quadrangle is shaping up to be a must-visit.”
