Join Badlands Records as they celebrate the 15th anniversary of Record Store Day

Get this date in your diary! Join Cheltenham's own local independent record store, Badlands Records, on Saturday 23rd April 2022 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Record Store Day. 

 

#RSD is that day of the year when over 260 independent record shops across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Hundreds of special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day, and many shops and cities host artist performances and events to mark the occasion. 

 

Many artists have announced brand new music and special limited-edition reissues for this year, with the likes of Elton John, Blur, David Bowie, Childish Gambino, Pixies, Joni Mitchell, Ennio Morricone, Patti Smith all taking part.

 

The American pop icon Taylor Swift will serve as Record Store Day's first-ever global Ambassador. To mark the occasion, she contributes a 7” vinyl release of her 2020 single, ‘The Lakes’. 

 

Established in 1985 by brothers Steven and Philip Jump. Badlands is a long-established independent record shop based on St George's Place, Cheltenham, stocking brand new vinyl and CDs covering multiple genres including classic artists, alternative, and contemporary music.

 

On the occasion of #RSD 2022, Badlands Records is proud to support Cheltenham Welcome Refugees (CWR), a local volunteer organization. They hope to start raising funds at the event to support CWR activities and increase awareness about the refugee crisis. Anyone is welcome to help CWR by donating through their website.

Doors open at 9:00 am on Saturday 23rd April, and any remaining stock will be on sale via www.badlands.co.uk at 8:00 pm Friday 29th April.
