After hearing the exciting news that fitting rooms are now open at John Lewis & Partners Cheltenham, we can’t wait to head down there for a long overdue fashion fix!  With lots of outdoor socialising planned here in Cheltenham, Personal Stylist Steph Shaw gives her advice on how to keep warm but stay stylish this season...

Layering

Layers are the perfect way to avoid being caught out by the weather, while we're still unable to meet up socially indoors. A couple of great ways to do this would be throwing a cosy jumper or sweater-vest over your favourite Summer dress, or popping a stylish hoodie under your trench coat - sure to keep you warm and can be casually tied over the shoulders if you get too hot.

Key Pieces

We're all guilty of buying pieces that are 'trend driven' and end up being worn for just a couple of months of the year. I always encourage my clients to think about whether the pieces they buy could be worn beyond the current season, to avoid accumulating a wardrobe full of clothes we barely wear.

A great example of a piece you can buy for summer and beyond is a classic denim jacket. This can be layered over sweatshirts in the cooler months or thrown over a floral midi in the warmer ones. Or opt for a classic white shirt, preferably a little more oversized and relaxed in fit. This will look super chic with shorts and a pair of chunky sandals in spring/summer, or worn with jeans and a blazer in autumn/winter.

Day-to-Night

With lots of outdoor socialising happening this summer, it's helpful to find outfits that will take you from your picnic in the park to an al fresco dinner. A couple of simple ways to do this are to bring a jumper/ sweatshirt that you can tie over your shoulders in the day to give you a bit of extra warmth as the night goes on, or try wearing a button down midi dress open over jeans and a cami in the day and buttoning it back up in the evening for a dressier look.

Why not swing by and chat with Steph and the team of personal stylists at John Lewis & Partners Cheltenham?  They will  make sure you are prepared for whatever the elements throw your way over the next few months, while still looking super stylish and feeling great!
