Imagine a future society in which everything you see and hear is published publicly online. Your entire life is visible to anyone who cares to play it back. There can be no secrets. How would we come to live? Utopia or dystopia?

This is the theme at the heart of Miles Hudson’s new novel, 2089. Alongside book tour events around Cheltenham and Gloucester, the author has set up the ‘2089 Trail’ competition to publicise it. The story’s hero, Jack Smith, kicks off the action by blowing up the ‘old’ GCHQ building where he works. He goes on the run along the River Severn, trying to outrun the posse chasing him. The 2089 Trail competition takes you to five of the locations in the story. At each clue location, you collect letter clues, and then when you have all the letters, solve the anagram (directly related to the story of course) and then submit your Prizeword online at mileshudson.com to be in the draw to win one of five unique prizes.

The competition is being launched at each clue location during the book tour, where you’ll be able to pick up a competition leaflet with information about where to go to find all the clues. Or, you’ll be able to pick up a 2089 Trail leaflet from Tourist Information Centres around the region. Or download a copy from the author’s website.
