The Coconut Tree

The Coconut Tree is a bar and restaurant offering authentic Sri Lankan street food and sweet and fiery cocktails in a stripped back street style venue. 

 

Rich in Ceylon spices with recipes going back generations, the menu is naturally abundant with vegan and vegetarian options. 

 

Some firm favourites include pineapple curry, stir-fried chickpeas, and polenta-battered mushrooms with spicy caramelised onions.   

Mowgli Street Food

The Brewery Quarter, Henrietta Street, Cheltenham, GL50 4FA

Mowgli opened in The Brewery Quarter in 2021. It has fast become a firm favourite by locals and visitors alike. Mowgli is all about how Indians eat at home and on their streets. Nisha Katona, the CEO and executive chef, was born to feed the raw need Indians have for tiffins full of fresh bright intense flavour.  Mowgli is not about the intimate, hushed dining experience. It is about the smash and grab zing of healthy, light, virtuosic herbs and spices.

The comprehensive gluten free menu features the Holy Chow described as their 'vegan showstopper,' featuring spiced chickpea, potato, spinach, fresh ginger & mango served in a loaf; gluten free tiffin boxes described as 'food roulette, total pot luck' and gluten free desserts including the Mowgli chocolate brownie. 

The Alchemist

The Brewery Quarter, Henrietta Street, Cheltenham, GL50 4FA

The Alchemist is a cocktail bar & restaurant that celebrates molecular mixology, alchemy and craftsmanship. It is a firm favourite for vegans with many delicious dishes on offer including nori crisps and padron peppers on the nibbles menu, plant burgers, cauliflower katsu curry and Buddha bowls on the main menu plus several delectable vegan sides to choose from too, including giant panko onion rings and Asian greens. 

The Mahal

Montpellier Drive, Cheltenham, GL50 1TY

 

At The Mahal restaurant, it is all about flavour! Celebrating the wonderful Indian spices and ingredients that we all know and love.

There are several vegan and vegetarian dishes to enjoy here, including a delightful mash-up of Indian flavours and British tradition with a vegan afternoon tea menu. 

 

For a more substantial meal, the Mahal has a seven-course vegan tasting menu to dig into. Featuring a medley of delights such as jackfruit and pumpkin biryani and wild mushroom and spinach tart with korma sauce.

WoodKraft

13 Regent Street, Cheltenham, GL50 1HE

Spread across three floors of a beautiful period property on Regent Street, Woodkraft Cheltenham features the very best local, provincial produce using the philosophy of farm to fork.

 

At Woodkraft, they have a menu that caters well for those following a vegetarian or vegan diet, with breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings to tempt all diners. 

 

For breakfast, why not sample their vegan buckwheat pancakes or a vegan fry up? While for a spot of lunch, there is roasted beetroot salad, sweetcorn fritters and potato rosti cakes. 

Vegetus

42 Winchcombe Street, Cheltenham, GL52 2ND

Vegetus is a 100% plant-based restaurant serving up an array of tasty dishes from a cosy little venue on Winchcombe Street.

 

The menu is inspired by the owners Spanish-Moroccan and Hungarian backgrounds. Offering a fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes, as well as some twists on British and American classics.

The Find

Bringing the traditional English coffee house to Cheltenham, The Find is an inclusive, friendly cafe that aims to make everyone who crosses the threshold feel comfortable.

 

Vegan coffee-lovers have oat and soya milk alternatives to choose from, and the drinks menu also includes fruit smoothies and herbal teas. 

 

The café always has a selection of vegan cakes available which changes daily and they are happy to adapt their menu for vegans by swapping out ingredients.

All Bar One

18 Montpellier Walk, Cheltenham, GL50 1SD

 

All Bar One Cheltenham is a stylish space for spirited people to meet. Their menus are created so you can graze over tapas or sip on scroll-stopping cocktails to your heart's content.

There is a range of plant-based dishes on the menu that are available to order all day. From jackfruit wraps to vegan nachos and the revolutionary beyond meat burger. A perfect accompaniment to the bars many delicious cocktails.  

 

The Swan

35 - 37 High Street, Cheltenhaam, GL50 1DX

The Swan is a fun and relaxed traditional free house serving the best local, independent drinks and authentic Indian dishes in the heart of Cheltenham.

 

The menu features a mix of small snack plates, chaat (snacks) and large plates, so you can easily share with friends. Vegan options include tandoori soya chaaps, Kerala mix vegetable curry and vegan biryani.

Howlee Cowless

Virtual vegan Cheltenham takeaway restaurant offering delivery via Deliveroo

Holee Cowless prides itself on serving 'victoriously vegan food'. The one stop place for vegans, non-vegans and vegetable-haters alike! Their menu features moving mountain patties made with plant based patties or falafel, made in house served with homemade sauces in freshly toasted vegan buns. All of their plant based recipes have been created to smash through food stereotypes.
