The Wilson – Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum

From the story of explorer Edward Wilson to the designs of the Arts and Crafts Movement, The Wilson, Cheltenham's art gallery and museum, is full of stories waiting to be discovered. Explore independently and see what you find, or take a tour of the collections with a knowledgeable guide. The BIG Museum Project this year also invites visitors to take part in shaping the future of The Wilson before a refresh and reopening in autumn.

 

Holst Victorian House

Travel back to the 19th-century at Holst Victorian House, the Cheltenham birthplace of composer Gustav Holst. The house takes you on a journey through Holst's life and work, as well telling the tales of the eclectic residents who lived in the house. Explore what life was like for a middle-class family in 1870s Cheltenham, experience a working Victorian kitchen and scullery below stairs, and authentic Victorian interiors above stairs.

 

Montpellier arts galleries trail

Or why not discover new artists on the Montpellier Arts Galleries Trail? This self-guided route takes you through Cheltenham's elegant Montpellier district, where six independent galleries sit within a short stroll of each other against. Along the trail there’s a mix of contemporary and traditional artworks, sculpture, prints and ceramics from established and emerging artists, as well Montpellier’s charming cafés, shops and green spaces.

Cheltenham Racecourse tours

Gloucestershire’s largest cidery, Dunkertons recently celebrated a gold medal win for its Black Fox Cider at the 2025 World Cider Awards. And you can find out how the magic is made on their cider-making masterclasses, which give visitors a hands-on insight into the art of crafting real cider by hand.
