A very warm welcome to Cheltenham - your cultural centre for the Cotswolds

Cheltenham was specifically designed in its 18th and 19th century heyday as a pleasure health resort for wealthy visitors, the legacy of which is an exceptional range of quality accommodation, restaurants and entertainment in an elegant Regency spa town.

Whether you are looking for accommodation for one of our Cheltenham Festivals, a relaxing break in a historic town, or simply a base for touring the Cotswolds, you will find a wide choice - from a 5 star hotel to comfortable guest accommodation, luxury serviced apartments or the freedom of self-catering or nearby caravan and camping, there is something to suit every taste and budget.  Try our FREE Accommodation Booking Service on 01242 237431 (press button 3), where our friendly staff will find just the right accommodation for your stay in Cheltenham, or call in and see us in the Tourist Information Centre at The Wilson in Clarence Street.  We have a great shop with Cheltenham, Christmas and Audrey Hepburn related gifts and the chance to buy your cards from the stands 'Christmas Cards for Good Causes'.

Conveniently less than a hundred miles from London, Cheltenham provides easy access from all parts of the UK and is an ideal base for touring into the Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon and Bath. Regency town houses, with intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades, line the historic leafy Promenade, squares and terraces.

Relax in its award-winning gardens, enjoy our impressive range of stylish shops and restaurants, and spend some time at one of our many fantastic cultural festivals and events - from horse racing, music and literature to family fiestas.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cheltenham - call and see us at the Tourist Information Centre at The Wilson - Cheltenham's Art Gallery & Museum in Clarence Street and find out more about all Cheltenham has to offer, including self-guided walks in the winter months and fantastic Walking Tours of our Regency town starting from The Wilson on Saturday mornings at 11.00am from Spring to Autumn, a new Hollywood Bowl in The Brewery or the IMAX screen at Cineworld.

Look at our events to see details of some fantastic festivals, including Top Speakers at Cheltenham Town Hall throughout the autumn, featuring Ben Fogle, Freddie Flintoff, Lesley Garrett, Sir Roger Moore and Ray Mears.  The current exhibitions to see at The Wilson, Cheltenham's Art Gallery & Museum, are ARTIST ROOMS Bill Viola from 3 October 2015 - 7 February 2016  and Audrey Hepburn:  Portraits of an Icon, fresh from its sell-out run at the National Gallery in London, running from 9 November 2015 - 14 February 2016

As part of the exhibition, retailers were invited to take part in a "Best Dressed Window" competition, which was won by Vallender Hair Salon in The Suffolks, owned by Jo and Jerome Herve.  Their 'Let them eat cake' display, commemorated Marie Antoinette and included a fabulous dress by Jan Knibbs, textile and fashion designer specialising in couture embroidery, and a wig by Jo.

With such a huge variety of entertainment in Cheltenham, choose a performance at the Everyman Theatre, a concert or show at the Town Hall, or a race meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse.  See our Events Listings for more details..... For fuller details, call our Tourist Information Centre on 01242 237431.
