The Promenade – Cheltenham’s elegant shopping boulevard
The Promenade is one of Cheltenham’s most beautiful streets, lined with trees, Regency buildings, boutique shops, and elegant cafés. Stretching from the High Street towards the stylish district of Montpellier, it’s the perfect place to shop, dine, and soak up Cheltenham’s famous café culture.
Along the way, you’ll spot Neptune’s Fountain, the striking Hare and Minotaur sculpture, and the impressive Municipal Office – a fine example of Regency architecture.
Shopping on The Promenade
Known locally as The Prom, this is one of the UK’s finest shopping boulevards. It’s home to a mix of big-name brands and independent retailers:
Throughout the year, The Promenade also hosts farmers’ markets, fine food stalls, and arts & crafts markets with traditional striped stalls.

Imperial Gardens
At the southern end of The Promenade, Imperial Gardens is a vibrant green space framed by Grade I listed Regency buildings. Once the private gardens of the Sherborne Spa, today it’s home to:
