Cotswold Festival of Steam 2023 'Cheltenham & Gloucester Remembered' - including guest locos 4079 Pendennis Castle and British Railways Standard class 4-4-6-0 no. 75014.
Remembering local scenes, this year's GWSR Cotswold Festival of Steam is inspired by the huge variety on the railway network around Cheltenham and Gloucester during the heyday of steam. Fast expresses, interregional trains from lines long since closed, local workings and industrial networks, the range was huge. The GWSR home fleet will run alongside visiting locos. Tickets now on sale.
What is the Cotswold Festival of Steam?
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway's spectacular Cotswold Festival of Steam features at least eight locomotives in steam.
An intensive timetable gives steam train fans plenty of opportunity to ride behind all of the locomotives and some trains feature double-heading and interesting combinations of motive power. The locomotive and carriage & wagon workshops will throw open their doors for rare behind-the-scenes visits and there will be plenty of other activity at the railway’s stations. The sight and sound of a ‘Pug’ will add further flair to the occasion. This is a family friendly event which train enthusiasts of any age will enjoy.
