Autumn Events in Cheltenham 2021

Autumn is a spectacular and action-packed season to visit Regency Cheltenham with many world-class events and live performances taking place.

The season kicks off with the annual popular event - Cheltenham Heritage Open Days, 10 - 19 September, which offers an inspirational programme of local events to showcase Cheltenham's heritage and history. 

Horse racing fans will flock to the home of jump racing, Cheltenham Racecourse, for two days in October to attend The Showcase and again for The November Meeting, an annual unmissable three-day meeting. As racing meets were held behind closed doors last year these events are sure to be memorable occasions!

The annual ten day Cheltenham Literature Festival, 8 - 17 October, brings together 1,000 of the biggest names in publishing. Award-winning authors of fiction and non-fiction join poets, spoken word artists and new voices to delve into a range of topics including travel and adventure, food and drink, lifestyle, history, art and religion. This years event will feature Maggie O'Farrell, Colm Toibin, Joan Collins, Colson Whitehead, Ed Miliband, Ruby Wax, Ed Balls and many more well-known names. 

Beer, wine and cocktail fans are spoilt for choice during autumn in Cheltenham with many food and drink events including... Cheltenham Wine Festival and The Gin To My Tonic Festival.

After over a year of no live music or theatre performances this autumn shows and theatre performances are well and truly back! Some highlights include - Blood Brothers, Wet Wet Wet, Russell Watson and Scouting for Girls!

Less known, more intimate autumn events in Cheltenham 2021 include the GWSR Autumn Diesel Day, The Suffolks Market and Cheltenham Farmers Market.
