Autumn in Cheltenham
With its parks and gardens turning brilliant shades of red, orange and gold and the elegant Regency architecture taking on a warm and inviting charm, Cheltenham truly comes alive for the autumn.
The 75th anniversary of Cheltenham Literature Festival, 4-13 October, promises a feast for the mind. As the world’s longest-running literature festival, the annual event leads the way in celebrating the written and spoken word, presenting the best new voices in fiction and poetry alongside literary greats and high-profile speakers.
Horse racing fans will flock to the home of jump racing, Cheltenham Racecourse, for two days in October to attend The Showcase and again for The November Meeting, an annual unmissable three-day meeting.
As mornings grow crisp and frosty, Cheltenham's autumn also heralds the approaching festive season. November brings lots of festivities, including the official Cheltenham Christmas Launch and the return pf the magical Cheltenham Ice Rink.
