Since 1797, Hatchards have been at the heart of the literary scene in London. Thus, when looking to add a third shop to compliment their flagship in Piccadilly and their sister shop in St Pancras, they thought it only right to open their doors in the beautiful market town of Cheltenham, the jewel in the crown of literary Gloucestershire.

With a focus on history, art, and biography, as well as traditions of old fashioned service and personal attention, all at Hatchards look forward to emulating and expanding upon Cheltenham's existing literary traditions with their books, their booksellers, and their own literary heritage.
