Anniversary, Valentine’s Day, or just date night. These are some of the best romantic spots Cheltenham has on offer.

Happy hours

Turtle Bay

Corner of Pittville & Albion St, Cheltenham GL52 2LJ

A classic. Turtle Bay happy hour is every day until 6:30pm and AGAIN from 9pm until close. The Caribbean Island-inspired menu has over 20 cocktails including specials and twists on old favourites. The vibes are unmatched, paired with soft reggae tunes, this is the student budget alternative to a trip to The Bahamas, you’ll feel like you’re in a beach club the second you walk in the door.

Brasserie Blanc

Promenade, Cheltenham GL50 1NN

Fancy a midweek date night? Brasserie Blanc offers two of their expertly crafted cocktails or spritz for the price of one from 5-7pm Mondays to Fridays. Nestled into the side of the iconic Queens Hotel, inside in the air-conditioned bar or outside on the terrace, you can enjoy any season at this Cheltenham favourite.

DISCOUNTED DINNER

Pho

The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham GL50 4FA

Already great value food, Pho offers students a 15% discount on their food bill! Enjoy freshly cooked Vietnamese food to suit every preference. High protein, keto-friendly, as well as vegan, veggie, and gluten-free options – there’s something for everyone.

Son of Steak

The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham GL50 4FA

Not only does Son of Steak offer a 20% discount off food for students, but from Sunday to Thursday cocktails are 2 for £12.50. If that isn’t a perfect date night deal, I don’t know what is. Also offering vegan options, nothing is stopping this from being your next date night.

The Coconut Tree

59 St Paul's Rd, Cheltenham GL50 4JA

A favourite for a reason. Sunday to Thursday, get authentic Sri Lankan food and cocotails at The Coconut Tree. The vibey restaurant offers a 20% student discount off the, wait for it, WHOLE BILL. And that’s not all. This is their all-year-round offer, they run various student offers as well as putting together this handy guide for student money saving (including visiting The Coconut Tree, obviously).

SPECIAL OCCASION

KIBOU

Unit 36, Regent Arcade, Regent St, Cheltenham GL50 1JZ

This stunning Japanese restaurant just celebrated its tenth anniversary. The beautiful terrace and the award-winning Kitchen & Bar are sure to impress. Save this one for someone special, or just take yourself, it’s too good to wait.

Memsahib's Lounge

47 - 49 Promenade, Cheltenham GL50 1PJ

This contemporary Indian bar and restaurant is the perfect combination of good food and INSANE gin. The production value of the drinks alone is reason enough to visit this gem.

The Nook on Five

The Quadrangle Imperial Square, Cheltenham GL50 1PZ

Is he proposing, or did he just take me to The Nook on Five? Located at the top of the quadrangle, the balcony gives breathtaking views over imperial gardens and blankets to keep you warm all evening while you stare lovingly into each other’s eyes.
