KIBOU Japanese Kitchen & Bar is reopening and will be bigger and better than before

KIBOU Japanese Kitchen & Bar is reopening on Sunday 6 September in a larger venue just down the road from their old popular spot on Regent Street. 

A flavour of the food you can expect at KIBOU...

A new 80-cover restaurant and 150 capacity bar that aims to transport customers to the bustling backstreets of Tokyo’s eclectic bar and restaurant scene.

Serving an extensive range of authentic Japanese food and drink, KIBOU’s menu features steaming bowls of RAMEN, made with pork, chicken or vegan broth, freshly prepared KATSU CURRY, and increasingly popular DONBURI, Japanese rice bowls. Alongside these, you’ll find pillowy steamed BAO BUNS with a variety of fillings, a range of TEMPURA, including softshell crab, and an extensive selection of handmade to order SUSHI and SASHIMI, including KIBOU’s signature and much-talked-about VOLCANO ROLL - salmon, avocado and tobiko futomaki, tempura fried and served with KIBOU house sauce.

To complement the restaurant offering, KIBOU also features a standalone bar serving an ambitious selection of Japanese WHISKY, SAKE and SHŌCHŪ along with Japanese brewed beers and cocktails.

So who are KIBOU? A little bit of background about one of Cheltenham's most popular restaurants...

KIBOUsushi has been operating from its basement restaurant on Regent Street for the last 7 years, serving award-winning Japanese food to scores of happy and returning customers. However, in this new world of Covid-19 social distancing, this small restaurant soon realised that it would no longer be able to operate in its current form.

When the old Carluccio’s restaurant became available just down the street, they knew this was an opportunity too good to miss, and so jumped at the chance to move to larger premises in order to ensure the survival of this much-loved restaurant and brand.
