This summer’s celebration features over 60 free activities, entertainment and live performances. A wide range of activities, delivered by local organisations, will be available for all to enjoy from 11am to 4pm. Live music, dance and theatre performances from children and young people continues on the NCLB main stage until 5pm.

Families of children who would benefit from a quieter environment can book the quiet hour from 10am-11am, offering a calm start with suitable activities during this time. Those booking the quiet hour do not need to pre-register separately. Pre-registration is available for quicker entry on the day, and walk-ups will also be welcome.

The event celebrates Cheltenham’s children and young people and the fantastic organisations that work with them across the town. It is also partly funded through the Gloucestershire County Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, helping to provide healthy lunches for attendees.

Activities will be split into four zones across the park on both sides of Evesham Road, from the Pump Room to the Prince of Wales Stadium, with something different taking place in each area:

The festival field, at Agg Gardners’ recreation ground, hosted by Cheltenham Borough Council, will feature inflatables, circus skills tent with a variety of circus themed workshops, therapy dogs and a costume making workshop delivered by the Everyman Theatre.

The Move More arena, at Prince of Wales Stadium, hosted by Move More, will offer a climbing wall, Mr Mulligans crazy golf, a range of sporting activities including zumba sessions and mini-Olympics.

Urban playground, at the tennis courts and skatepark, hosted by The Children’s Society, will include skateboarding and demos by Friends of Montpellier Skatepark, The Music Works bus and a rodeo inflatable surfboard.

The NCLB lawn and advice village, hosted by Cheltenham Borough Council, will feature a variety of family activities such as art and drama, the family-friendly advice village and host a talent show in partnership with KAM Performing Arts and Gloucestershire Libraries.

The NCLB lawn will also be the home of the NCLB main stage, outside Pittville Pump Room. The stage will be hosted by entertainers Kishi and Maria Allebone, and Camilla Lewington, and will showcase a range of music, dance and drama performances.

Councillor Jamie Jamieson, cabinet member for safety and communities, said: “Party in the Park offers a great free day out for families, with over 60 providers running free activities. There’s something for children of all ages to enjoy from a climbing wall, inflatables, skateboarding and archery to creative activities like costume workshops and giant puppet making and live performances on the main stage. I’d encourage residents to come along and make the most of what’s on offer.”

The event is supported by sponsors Frazer-Nash Consultancy, Golden Valley HBD, Active Impact and Renishaw, as well as numerous partners and volunteers, including Move More, The Children’s Society and The Cheltenham Trust, who help make the day possible.
