A Hometown Hit
Since its April debut, Dom's mystery night out has become an instant hit, with tickets for the July and August events selling out almost immediately after their release. The new monthly event has clearly captivated local residents, proving to be a must-attend for anyone looking for a unique, spontaneous, one-of-a-kind night out.
"Curating a show in my hometown has been an absolute joy. After so many years in the industry, it’s such fun inviting friends & colleagues to Cheltenham, giving us a chance to catch up and reminisce. It's especially fun chatting with younger artists about the wild journey they're just starting. We bring that behind-the-scenes banter right to the stage in the interview section of the show—sharing maybe too much sometimes! Every SpeakeaZy night is different but always features a performance or two, me doing strange things and chatting to interesting people."
"Last month, we had the hilarious Seann Walsh, and before that, the brilliant Jenny Éclair. We've also had incredible new talent like Tom A Smith, who Elton John called 'a massive star for the future.' As always, the rest of my guests will remain a mystery! People always try to trick me into giving clues, but you will never break me. The whole night is built around a fun, relaxed, SpeakeaZy feel, with laughter at the heart of everything we do."
About the Show
Driven by Dom's legendary sense of fun and impeccable music taste, SpeakeaZy is a "Cabaret of Curiosities." He sets out to curate an unpredictable evening for the audience. The show blends his tales from thirty years in showbusiness with incredible musical performances, outrageous comedy, and, of course, plenty of surprises.
A Home at The Steam & Whistle
The show found its perfect home at The Steam & Whistle, an independent venue near Cheltenham's train station. Their fantastic lower-ground basement and courtyard provide an ideal setting for our intimate crowd of 200 guests. The team at this newly refurbished Victorian pub has been incredibly supportive, working hard to perfect the shows. Their artisan pizzas and knock-out drinks are a huge hit with both our performers and the audience. It's great to support a local venue that champions live music and comedy—there are so few of them around, and I want to shine a light on independent businesses who help make live entertainment happen.
Trigger Happy 25th Anniversary
With the 25th anniversary of Trigger Happy TV, this October is shaping up to be a busy one for Dom. He's taking his Trigger Happy UK Tour nationwide, with dates in London, Birmingham, and more.
"It's great to be able to invite Trigger Happy fans to my shows across the UK, as well as right here in Cheltenham," Dom says. "There's something for everyone this season!"
