We all have our own Christmas traditions, the family meals, the annual films, the little rituals that make the festive season feel special. But have you ever thought about making Gloucester Rugby part of those celebrations?
It might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Christmas, yet rugby captures so much of what the season is about - coming together, backing one another, and sharing unforgettable moments. And this year, there’s the perfect opportunity to do just that.
On Saturday 27 December, Gloucester Rugby welcome Saracens to Kingsholm Stadium, an ideal way to keep the festive spirit going once the turkey’s been carved and the board games are done. This isn’t just a brilliant way to spend a December Saturday; it’s also a fantastic Christmas gift for rugby lovers, live-sport fanatics, or anyone who enjoys a buzzing atmosphere. With adult tickets from £29 and juniors from £10, it’s an easy win for a family day out.
Kingsholm, or ’Holm, as it’s lovingly known, is more than a stadium. It’s a fortress steeped in history and pride, where the atmosphere is electric, passionate, and welcoming to supporters of all ages. It’s a tough place for visiting teams, and a cherished home for everyone in Cherry & White.
If your Christmas calendar is already packed, there’s another unmissable occasion on the horizon, The Slater Cup at Villa Park on Saturday 28 March. As part of Gallagher PREM Rugby’s Big Weekend Bonanza, Gloucester Rugby is taking a home game on the road to Birmingham for the first top-flight rugby match in the city in over 30 years. They’ll face Leicester Tigers in a fixture that means far more than points, named in honour of former Gloucester and Leicester player Ed Slater, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2022, the cup brings people together while raising vital awareness for the MND community. With over 11,000 tickets already sold, it’s a meaningful Christmas gift for anyone who wants to be part of something bigger than sport.
Thinking about gifting either of these games? Make sure to secure your tickets early, both fixtures are expected to sell out.
