Bring life to your portraits with this introduction to portraiture in oil painting. Learn about the basic palette and facial proportions with plenty of informative demos and instruction over the course of the two days.
You will learn the basic pallete for portraiture; How to use oil paints; Where to begin with a portrait; Facial proportions and how to line up.

Francesca is a full time artist based in Cheltenham. Francesca studied at The University College of the Arts in Norwich where she achieved a B.A. Honours in Fine Art. She went on to study at the London Atelier of Representational Art. She then moved home four years ago to set up full time as an artist. She has exhibited across the country including London, Broadway, and York. She has had a solo show and exhibited at the RBSA Portrait Prize exhibition 2019, where her painting 'Lewis' was highly commended. She was nominated to become an associate to the R.B.S.A. in 2017 and elected a full member in 2018. She has had numerous private and public commissions including the former jockey Jonjo O'Neill, the Bishop of Worcester and the Sword Bearer of Worcester.

You will need to bring:
Brush's- a minimum of four brushes ideally size 0,2,4 suitable for oil painting. (My preference is square long flat)
One 12x16inch (or similar) canvas or board ready for oil paint.
One high quality image of a persons face, ideally with lighting from one side. I will provide the image if needed.
