Light Up Cheltenham Launch
Light Up Cheltenham is returning for the third year from the 1 - 23 February. To celebrate the launch of this fabulous annual free event the street theatre drumming group Spark! are returning to dazzle crowds on Saturday 1st February.
Starting at The Brewery Quarter at 5.15pm, Spark will wow their audience with their glowing drums and fantastic rhythms, and will move through town via The Promenade before finishing at Imperial Square at 6.15pm. The entertainment is moving so the timings given are approximate and may vary slightly.
Who are Spark!?
Spark! are a group of 5 light up drummers who will be performing in Cheltenham town centre on Saturday 1st February.
What time does it start?
At 5.15pm at The Brewery Quarter outside Nandos. Locals and visitors are invited to follow the band along The Promenade through to Imperial Square.
What else can you expect from Light Up Cheltenham 2020?
30+ buildings will be lit up in Cheltenham town centre for three weeks and a giant observation wheel will be delighting riders with stunning birds-eye views over our Regency town. On Valentines weekend buildings will be lit up in red to celebrate the most romantic time of the year. Click here for all the information you need regarding car parks in Cheltenham. They are situated in various locations around the town centre.
If arriving by car we recommend that you use Cheltenham’s Park & Ride service, this is located at Arle Court (GL51 6SY, near M5 Junction 11) and Cheltenham Racecourse (GL50 4SH). Parking is free, and the service runs every few minutes into the Town Centre; but please note that times vary on Sundays.
Public Transport Directions
Cheltenham Spa is well served by CrossCountry trains, including direct services from many mainline stations including Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, York, Sheffield and Edinburgh. The railway station (GL51 8NP) is located approximately 1 mile from the town centre, and local buses depart into Cheltenham town centre every few minutes.
Stagecoach run regular services locally and to nearby town and villages.
National Express Coaches operate services between many major cities and Cheltenham Spa’s Royal Well bus station (GL50 3PD).
