Champion Day: Tuesday 13 March 2018

The famous Cheltenham roar awaits on Day one of The Festival. As the tapes rise for the opening race, Horsemen and racegoers alike rejoice as the 12-month wait is over and racing’s favourite fixture is back.

The first day of The Festival features the most important hurdle race of the season, the UniBet Champion Hurdle. In 2017, Nicky Henderson’s Buveur D’Air took the honours and began Noel Fehily’s most successful festival to date. Champion’s Day also features the ever-competitive OLBG Mares’ Hurdle Race and The Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.

Day One of The Festival is full of nerves and anticipation as the greatest week in racing begins, and the famous roar can finally be released.

Ladies Day: Wednesday 14 March 2018

Ladies Day 2017 was bathed in late afternoon sunshine as Una O’Farrell took the honours for Best Dressed Ladies Competition with her stunning navy outfit.

Special Tiara won the 2017 renewal of the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase in the most emphatic fashion with a win in the Champion Chase. Special Tiara was ridden by Noel Fehily, who had secured the feature two-mile championship over hurdles the previous day of The Festival™.

Sporting grace and glamour, be bold, don your best silks and add a splash of colour on Ladies Day 2018. Be in with the chance to win a number of on-the-spot prizes throughout the day, including a new set of wheels to drive away in. Give your wardrobe a touch of Cheltenham and head to the tented village. Visit our extensive Shopping Village which provides a bespoke selection of unique quality products and gifts guaranteed for cater to all. With stylish outfits and music across the racecourse, it is an atmosphere like no other!

St Patricks Thursday: Thursday 15 March 2018

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Day Three of The Festival. It is a typically Irish affair with plenty of Guinness available in the Guinness Village plus racegoers are treated to Irish music around the course throughout the day.

As well as the atmosphere, the racing is top notch with The JLT Novices’ Chase kicking the day off, as well as The Sun Bets Stayers’ Hurdle and The Ryanair Steeple Chase.

Rather aptly, in 2017 it saw the resurgence of the formidable Irish duo that is Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh as they produced an incredible four-timer. Including scoring in the feature race The Sun Bets Stayers’ Hurdle as Nichols Canyon proved his doubters wrong to win.

St Patrick’s Thursday is a day that is guaranteed to be full of fun and fantastic racing – one not to be missed.

Cheltenham Gold Cup Day: Friday 16 March 2018

Last but most certainly not least is a phrase that defines the closing day of The Festival.

One of the most sought after titles in racing is decided on the final day of the Festival and always promises to provide the greatest spectacle. The Timico Gold Cup is a race associated with elite of the sport and nothing can rival the Cheltenham roar as the horses charge up the famous hill.

The 2017 rendition was won is style by the Mrs J Harrington trained 7/1 Sizing John ridden by Robbie Power in a thrilling race fending off challenges from Native River and Minella Rocco.

The victory celebrations roll on into the evening with top-class entertainment in Final Flight and the Centaur. The Festival fun doesn’t end just because the racing has!
