The 2018 Festival Frenzy

2018 offers another fantastic festival calendar throughout venues across Cheltenham with dates for many of the key festivals now released....

As we countdown to the 2017 finale of the Cheltenham Festivals series with the Cheltenham Literature Festival, which takes place from the 6th to the 15th October, here's a look at what's going on in 2018!

The headline event of the racing calendar is the 2018 Cheltenham Festival and Gold Cup, which takes place between the 13th and 16th March and sees people (and horses) travel from across the globe to this elite four-day event.

Champion Day: Tuesday 13 March 2018

Ladies Day: Wednesday 14 March 2018

St Patricks Thursday: Thursday 15 March 2018

Cheltenham Gold Cup Day: Friday 16 March 2018

April sees the return of the Cheltenham Wine Festival on the 7th, at Pittville Pump Room, where you can sample wines from across the globe with fellow wine lovers, and Cheltenham Poetry Festival runs from the 19th to the 30th April.

The first in the series of the four Cheltenham Festivals, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, runs from the 2nd to 7th May, and celebrates its 22nd year at various venues across the town.

A popular event at the nearby Royal Three Counties Showground from 10th to 13th May is the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, with four days of horticultural delights, demonstrations, food, drink and trade stands.  You will be sure to spot some famous faces including Monty Don and Carol Klein from BBC Gardener's World who film there every year.

June is jam-packed with festivals to enjoy, kicking off with the 2018 Wychwood Music Festival, which takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse from the 1st to the 3rd June.  The Cheltenham Science Festival runs at Cheltenham Town Hall from the 5th to the 10th June, and the Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival will be at Montpellier Gardens from the 15th to the 17th June which includes tastings, demonstrations, lectures, and plenty of local produce to take home!

The Royal Three Counties Agricultural Show is at the Three Counties Showground from 15th to 17th June showcasing the finest in agricultural, livestock and equine, with many trade stands and activities.

The award winning 2000Trees Festival has confirmed its return from 12th to 14th July at nearby Upcote Farm, with advance tickets already on sale.

Cheltenham Music Festival kicks off the summer with a fortnight of fantastic music and entertainment from 4th to 15th July at various indoor and outdoor venues across Cheltenham.
