This year, the event will feature six new inspiring awards which will celebrate how organisations and projects are adapting to some of the big issues facing the town and children and families in Cheltenham.

The new award categories are:

#OurViewsMatter – Hearing the voices of children and young people and creating change with them

#GoingGreen - Working to improve the environment now and for the future

#FutureLeaders – Giving children and young people opportunities to become leaders.

#BusinessForChange - Celebrating local businesses that support children and young people

#InclusionWorks – Unlocking the potential of all our children and young people

#DigitalInnovation - Enabling children and young people to thrive in a digital world

Councillor Flo Clucas, member for safety and communities, said, “I’m so proud of the many organisations that are working day in, day out to support local children, young people and their families. These are tough times and it is right that we take time out to recognise and celebrate their dedication and commitment.

“I’m also delighted to see the six new categories which reflect some really important issues such as inclusion, climate change and digital innovation. I look forward to seeing who wins at the NCLB awards in January.”

“I’m incredibly grateful to Punchline-Gloucester.com who are once again supporting the awards.”

Mark Owen, editor of Punchline-Gloucester.com, said: “We are incredibly proud to be involved with the NCLB Awards again. Last year was an amazing event and I was blown away by the support of so many brilliant and caring companies sponsoring the category awards - it was fantastic that so many organisations received a huge, well-deserved thank you as they continue to do incredible work in the community.”

Cheltenham Town Hall is now home to an impressive all year round programme of major festivals, entertainment, exhibitions and functions. Built in 1902-1903 as a venue for social events, it replaced the Assembly Rooms on the High Street, which had been demolished to make way for a bank. Interestingly, unlike most Town Hall's, this grand building in Cheltenham was not built as the seat for a Borough Council, which is instead found in the Municipal Offices across the road on the Promenade.
