Is your workplace up for the challenge of The Business Games at Cheltenham Racecourse?

Businesses are being given the chance to fight for their honour and charity as Cheltenham Racecourse launches a brand-new sporting fixture.

The venue is well-known around the globe for its jump racing, but in 2020 that will all change as it will host The Business Games at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Companies can now sign up to enter the arena, develop new skills and business contacts by competing in a traditional sports day.

Rounders, netball and wacky races are on the menu and what’s more, there is £2,500 up for grabs for the winning team to donate to a good cause of their choice.

The Business Games at Cheltenham Racecourse will be taking place at the venue on Thursday, May 21.

Lee Moulson, Regional Head of Sales at Cheltenham Racecourse, is excited about introducing the event and thinks it’s a fun way for firms to get together away from the business environment.

“Cheltenham Racecourse has a strong relationship with the business community and we thought The Business Games would be the perfect way to bring everyone together and do something different,” said Lee.

“Not only is it a fun environment for companies to network, but it will be a fantastic team-building exercise for everyone involved as well.

“The afternoon will be focussed on traditional sports, so there will be rounders, netball, a whole host of fun races for everyone to battle it out and be in with a chance to taking home the winner’s trophy.

“This is the first time that we have hosted the tournament and we hope that firms come out, support it and we can make this an annual event.

“There is a very lively business scene across our region and we would love this to become a fixture among the commercial community so we would love people to sign up, pick their colours and start preparing to be in with a chance of winning a chosen charity an incredible £2,500.”

The Business Games details

Starting at 4pm out on the track, teams will need to be a minimum of eight people and a maximum of 10.

There is space for 30 teams to take part and they will receive a goodie bag for participating in the games, along with a winner’s trophy and a consolation wooden spoon prize for one team.

Entry also includes a barbecue once the contest has taken place and a drinks voucher.
