This week the Visit Cheltenham team had the pleasure of checking out the new bistro café to open in Montpellier, Chaplais Kitchen, sister site to the popular Maison Chaplais in nearby Tivoli.

With a promise of food ‘ordinary made extraordinary’ our expectations were high as we arrived to try out the freshly made pizza and take a tour around the newly renovated grade-II listed building.

Our first impressions were of the stylish outdoor seating area with seating for 18.  With views of Rotunda Terrace it is a great spot for al fresco dining and soaking up the unique Montpellier atmosphere.

Walking through the front door we were greeted by the friendly team who quickly whipped us up a fresh and tasty pizza using expertly made dough, created using their secret recipe.

With a glass of fizz in one hand and freshly made bread in the other we went to check out the downstairs seating area which is rustic and inviting, a great spot to enjoy dining with family and friends.

All in all a lovely evening with great food and wine in a stunning spot in Montpellier.  We thoroughly recommend you pop by to try out freshly made pizzas, salads, pastas and ribs.  Chaplais Kitchen is open for brunch, lunch and dinner with last orders at 8.45pm.
