Cheltenham’s new Tourist Information Centre in the heart of the town, is officially opening on Friday 5th September at 11.30am. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be led by Max Wilkinson MP, marking an exciting milestone for both visitors and the local community.

Located in Cavendish House on the vibrant Promenade (opposite the Minotaur sculpture), the centre is a vital hub for visitor information. It complements Visit Cheltenham’s website, helping tourists make the most of their time in Cheltenham and the surrounding Cotswolds. From maps and guides to events, attractions and transport advice, the centre is designed to enhance the town’s appeal as a welcoming and accessible destination.

More than just a visitor centre, it also supports the local community, acting as an informative space where residents can stay up to date with what’s happening. It’s entirely volunteer-run, with a dedicated team giving their time and expertise to support both visitors and neighbours alike.

The Centre is funded through donations from local residents and businesses and needs their continued support to maintain this valuable service.

Max Wilkinson MP Opens Cheltenham’s New Tourist Information Centre

Max Wilkinson MP commented ahead of the launch:

"I'd like to thank everyone who has put the work in to open a new space for tourism information. Whilst most visitors will access information by digital services, it's great to have an additional in-person offer. Visitors to Cheltenham have so much to choose from and having a space like this, run by passionate volunteers, will make a real difference."

Sue Oscroft from the Tourist Information Centre reported:

“We opened our doors 4 weeks ago and have already helped over 1,000 people find out more about what Cheltenham has to offer. Our fantastic volunteers are here 6 days a week to help answer your questions. We are entirely funded by donations so if you can help please email [email protected].
